Ah, it’s Friday. There is just something about Friday. For most, Friday signals some serious happiness receptors in the brain. It’s the end of the work week, the end of the stress, and the beginning of some much anticipated down time. Friday can mean a night on the town with some girlfriends, drinks with your lover over dinner, or maybe even catching the latest new release at the movie theater. So many possibilities. So much fun. Oh, Friday, how I love thee.
In our house, Friday is date night. A night I look forward to all week because it means I get to spend some quality, uninterrupted time with my man. Some Friday’s we get really lucky and have a babysitter for our little one, but other nights we have to make date night work after she goes to sleep. Either way, this non-negotiable time is so important to us and we always make it work.
Today, I am sharing one of our favorite, low key, “date night in” ideas. It doesn’t cost much and can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home.
We start the evening off with one of our favorite bottles of Sangria. We are not fancy by any means, so we typically purchase the Yellow Tail Sangria from Publix. Depending on the size, a bottle runs anywhere from $6-$12. Sometimes I’ll throw in some fresh berries and orange slices to jazz it up a bit. It’s super simple and quite delicious.
Next, we’ll get to work on our favorite homemade pizza. Crab Rangoon. Yep, you heard that right. Don’t knock it till you try it. Trust me! My lover found this recipe a few years ago and decided to give it a try. It literally blew our minds. It’s been our go to pizza for Valentine’s Day (every.single.year) and special date nights at home. It is creamy, flavorful, and sinfully delicious.
We’ll work in the kitchen together and chat about life. I am in charge of cutting and prepping all of the pizza ingredients and he is in charge of actually constructing the masterpiece. This is my favorite time. We get to talk about anything, and everything, as we move effortlessly in the kitchen to make something we will both enjoy. There is also something super sexy about watching your man flip pizza dough in the air. Sometimes I like to casually sip my wine and gaze at him in all of his manly glory. Not stalkerish at all. 😉
While the pizza is baking, we usually sit on the kitchen floor and exchange kisses, chat, and just soak in the moment. Like I said before guys, we are not fancy. But, these simple moments are everything. (Pizza recipe is down below)
After we’ve dined over our pizza and sipped our sweet sangria, things start to heat up. We usually grab some blankets and make a bed on the living room floor, put on a movie, and enjoy each other. More times than not this always turns in to grabbing some toys and really helping each other relax.
On this particular night, we grabbed the Womanizer Premium to make our foreplay a little more fun. My man knows just how to work this amazing little toy so I can experience endless amounts of pleasure and get nice and wet for him. Yep, I went there. I mean, what Friday night date night would be complete without some hot and steamy TLC.
I will leave it to your imagination to figure out how the rest of the evening pans out. But, I will say, the night always ends with everyone feeling nice and relaxed…and ready to take on the weekend.
So, if you are looking for a simple, cheap, and super sexy date night idea…this is always a winner in our book. Pizza, sangria, and the Womanizer. Take my word for it.
Happy Friday. 🙂

Here is the pizza recipe if you want to give it a try. A simple Google search will pull up a bunch similar to this. This is how we make it…
Crab Rangoon Pizza
Ingredients
- Pizza Dough (We tend to favor the Publix mounds of pizza dough, or you can go to your local pizza place and buy dough…yes, they will let you!)
- 2-3oz of cream cheese
- 2 green onions, minced
- 1 package of crab meat, flaked
- 1/2 cup mozzarella or 1/2 cup fontina (We typically use 1/2 cup of both cheeses to make the pizza extra creamy)
- Franks RedHot Sweet Chili Sauce
Directions:
- Heat oven to 400 degrees F
- Work out the pizza dough to a nice flat circle. Not too thick. Lay on pizza screen.
- Spread cream cheese on pizza dough
- Flake crab on to the dough, top with green onions and sprinkle on mozzarella & fontina cheese
- Bake 10-12 minutes, or until nice and golden.
- Drizzle the sweet chili sauce on top and Enjoy!
